Merricks Estate was one of the first commercial vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula being planted in 1978. Brilliant very pale straw colour with a faint greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Intense white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey scents bound through the olfactory senses with notions of crème brulee, nougat and spicy cashew also evident. Rich, mouthfilling flavours of fleshy peach, ripe nectarine and crème brulee have a soft creamy textural feel. Citrusy nougat, dried honey, subtle cashew and spice characters also chime in. Balanced acidity finishing long and lush.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.4%

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked and sorted, fermented and matured for 12 months in French oak (25% new), partial mlf. A major success for Merricks Estate, with succulent stone fruit flavours, oak merely a support. Drink by 2028.
