Barrel fermented and matured in French oak for 10 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with subtle tinges of green to the outskirts and a watery hue. White peach and nectarine scents gently marry into hints of dried honey with biscuity oak, citrusy nougat and subtle flinty notes also present. Elegant and refined the palate is bursting with fresh acidity that lends some tang to the finish. Vibrant white peach and citrus fruits overlay nougat, light biscuity oak and a flinty component. Crisp like finish with a focused aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked, fermented in barrel (20% new), matured for 11 months on lees. Has that edgy acidity ex no mlf that underwrites its longevity. Drink by 2030.

Lyons Will is at Lancefield in the Macedon Ranges region. It’s a cool/cold landscape for certain.
We have both colour and flavour here but the finish is searing and long. This is a dart aimed at the future. Nectarine and white peach, grapefruit and citrus characters with nashi pear and florals as an afterthought. There’s a sweetness from oak but its influence is gentle at most. It’s an arresting wine. It will be beautiful in time. Drink by 2028+.
