2018 Little Reddie Brothers Malmsbury Chardonnay

Pat Underwood's third release of this single site Chardonnay from the Rush Brothers vineyard in Malmsbury. The vineyard is dry grown on basalt and quartz soils, and sits at 450-500m above sea level on a gentle north eastern facing slope. 

Bright yellow straw colour with tinges of pale gold to the edges and a pale straw hue. Aromas of ripe yellow peach, honeycomb and light butterscotch drift out of the glass trailed by a mix of lemon meringue pie and crème brulee notes. There’s a smoothness to the entry of the medium weighted palate with flavours of peaches, citrus and light honeycomb sitting over subtle oily toast like characters and spiced almonds. Vibrant finish with lots of fresh acidity on the medium length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
