2018 Levrier Anubis Cabernet Sauvignon
A rich, sturdily built Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon that carries generous palate weight.
Matured for 24 months in French oak barrels of which 40% was new. Dense midnight black dark red core with a very dark red hue. Pronounced aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and tobacco fill the nostrils followed by some dried herb, earthy black olive and spice notes. Rich and generous, the weighty palate is awash with blackcurrant, dark plum and mulberry fruits. Earthy tobacco, black olive, dried herb and spicy vanillin cedar elements lie underneath. Sturdily built it has a firm yet integrated tannin structure and a long, well fleshed finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews…….
Deep crimson with magenta highlights. Characters of rich blackberry, black cherry and macerated plums on a bed of deep spice with hints of tobacco leaf, cedar, pencil lead, dried herbs, licorice, espresso and earth. Some fig and prune join in on the palate, which shows substantial power and heft, solid fruit density, chocolatey tannins, espresso and a core of cassis fruit on the exit. Drink by 2033.
