2018 Lethbridge Mietta Pinot Noir
Cloudy red colour with a light red hue. Perfumed like aromas of dried rose petals, red cherries and winter strawberries infused with wild herbs are followed by clove, forest floor and spicy cedar. Light in body with a supple entry and vibrantly fresh finish, the palate has a savoury flavour profile of sour to red cherries, winter strawberries and dried clove. Infusions of wild herbs, forest floor and spicy cedar sit in the background. Bright acidity with fine grained tannins and a tangy medium to long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Following on from a strong '17 vintage comes another top year. A rousing, lifted aromatic bouquet fills the glass, all red berries, pomegranate, cranberry, lapsang souchong and exotic spice. A wine still in its infancy, with slow reveals of sweet fruit, dried herbs, bitter chocolate and savoury earth. A fine tannin structure exudes an elegance. Everything in its place and just waiting on time. Drink by 2027.
