The Kurtz family are fifth generation Barossans of German descent whose vineyard plantings date back to the 1930’s. Together with later plantings and acquisitions in the 1950’s and 1960’s winemaker Steve Kurtz has access to significant old vine fruit to craft his wines. For the 2018 Boundary Row Shiraz parcels of fruit were selected from low yielding vines located in the Barossa Valley sub region of Light Pass and maturation took place in a combination of seasoned and new French oak for 31 months.

Bold and lush with a long sumptuously fruited finish.

Dense pitch black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Engulfing the nose are heady scents of dark plum, liquorice and black cherries with vanillin oak, hints of dark chocolate and spicy mocha also present. Bold and luscious, the palate is awash with rich black cherry, liquorice and dark plum fruits which have an opulent feel. Subtly toasted vanillin oak, earthy fennel, mocha and pepper characters lie beneath. Ripe, robust tannin structure. Outstanding power finishing with a surprising lick of freshness and a long sumptuously fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
