2018 Koehler-Ruprecht Pinot Blanc Kabinett Trocken
Koehler-Ruprecht is one of the oldest, most distinctive wineries in the Pfalz region. The Pinot Blanc is grown on sand, limestone and gravel soils across three different vineyards: Steinacker, Annaberg and Saumagen which have an average vine age of about 18 years.
Bright pale straw colour with a subtle greenish tinge to the edges and a watery hue. Fresh pear and lime aromas intermingle with green apple, wet stone and fresh herb notes. Delicious pear, red apple, lime and light honeysuckle flavours show terrific intensity and a wonderfully rounded textural quality. Subtle stony characters lie underneath. Finishes dry and supple with an aftertaste that’s long, very pure and expressive.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
