2018 Karrawatta Dairy Block Shiraz

Aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Spicy dark cherry and liquorice aromas are intermeshed with smoked meats, earth and peppered dried herbs. Rich full bodied flavours of dark plum and liquorice have a plush feel. Notions of smoked meats, dried herbs and peppered earth lie underneath. Velvety yet structured tannin framework with a long ripe and savoury aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

It puts on a rich, seductive, complex display powered by black cherry, ripe plum and black pepper flavours. Briary/clovey/woodsy notes hover throughout, as does a suggestion of smoky reduction. It's juicy, well shaped and enormously enjoyable to drink. Drink by 2030.
