Deep dark red colour with a bright purple red tinged hue. Fragrant violet led aromatics blend in with clove, sour cherry, winter strawberry, incense, garden herb and spicy earth notes. Elegant and bright, the lighter bodied palate sees red fruits mix with some savoury sour cherry, clove, subtle earth, dried herb, a touch of meatiness and spice. Finishes dry with excellent freshness and faintly chewy tannins. The wholly satisfying aftertaste displaying ample length.

Other Reviews….
Deep and complete, the 2018 Morgon opens in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, smoked meats and cracked pepper. Medium to full-bodied, supple and layered, it's seamless and beautifully balanced, with powdery tannins and succulent acids. This is another terrific wine from Julien Sunier. Drink 2020-2030.

William Kelley – Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate

As I so often say, I buy, and drink way more cru Beaujolais than I do Burgundy. Less oak. More terroir on show, quite often. And way more bang for your buck. Morgon perhaps the most earthy cru, with a whole lot of bass notes. Earthy, a big show of exotic spice, rose oil, cherry essence, pepper over ripe strawberries. Medium-bodied, firm slatey tannin, beef dripping, good cut through of sappy acidity, smoked meats and spice on a long finish. It has a lot to stuff to unpack, as at now, but such a good wine of verity and staunch regionality.
