Deep dark purple black tinged colour with a bright purple red hue. Exquisitely perfumed violet and fragrant herb scents are trailed by red and sour cherries, incense, earth and clove. Deliciously fresh red and sour cherry fruits infused with violets have a vibrant feel as they dance across the palate. Ensuing are fresh herb, earth and subtle spicy clove nuances. Crunchy acidity underpins the fruit, the tannins refined. Finishes long, elegant, fresh and very tasty.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
The 2018 Fleurie has turned out beautifully, offering up aromas of raspberries, cloves, violets and peonies, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple palate that's pure and succulent, with powdery tannins and a bright, mineral finish. This is the first Fleurie that Sunier has produced from lower lying lieux-dits around the village, having ceded his steeper, higher-altitude holdings to David Chapel. Drink 2020-2030.
