While the history of the Inglenook estate dates back to 1873, the modern rejuvenation of the property began when Francis Ford Coppola purchased a portion of the vineyards in 1975. He vowed to reunite the various parcels of land, along with the historic Chateau, and restore the reputation Inglenook enjoyed earlier in its life. With input from esteemed Bordeaux consultant Stephane Derenoncourt, and Philippe Bascaules (Chateau Margaux), Inglenook is now firmly one of the leading properties in Napa Valley.

Dense inky black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Alluring blackcurrant and black cherry aromas are followed by hints of liquorice, vanillin cedar, light earth and subtle spicy fennel notes. Medium to full bodied with a plush, velvety feel, the palate is amply endowed with blackcurrant, dark plum and red liquorice fruits. Toasty vanillin cedar highlights, earth and spicy dark chocolate characters sit on the back half. Very polished yet well-constructed tannin framework with a lengthy finish.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews....
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is all understatement. In this tasting, it is a bit quiet, with less exuberance than in some recent vintages. Dark red cherry, mocha, spice, cedar and licorice all open with a bit of time in the glass. Best of all, the 2018 will drink well pretty much upon release. Drink 2023 - 2033.

Antonio Galloni - Vinous

Full-bodied with lots of layered fruit and round, creamy tannins. The palate shows lovely ripe-berry character with chocolate and hazelnut and a long, flavorful finish. Hints of black truffles. Plenty going on here with a firm framework that gives the wine form and interest. Try it after 2022.
