2018 Grasshopper Rock Earnscleugh Vineyard Pinot Noir
The wine was aged in French Oak Barriques for approximately 11 months, of which 29% was new oak. Semi translucent dark red core with black tinged edges and a red to dark red hue. The nose is filled with aromas of dark cherries, strawberries and rhubarb which are complimented by brambly cedar, dried herbs, forest floor and spice. Light to medium bodied the palate is layered with rich spicy dark cherry, rhubarb and strawberry fruits. Brambly dried herb and forest floor characters linger underneath. Supple feel with polished tannins and a long savoury conclusion.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
Aromas of red and black cherries, pine needle, baked strawberries and grated nutmeg. Medium- to full-bodied with silky tannins. Succulent and mouth watering with a subtle saline character underneath the juicy red fruit. Ground spice, too. Drink now. Screw cap.
