2018 Fire Gully Cabernets Merlot

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a red to brick red hue. Elevated red to blackcurrant and mulberry scents infused with a combination of tobacco and black olive are followed by hints of spicy capsicum. Mid weighted flavours of ripe red currant and mulberry make a fleshy entrance with some black olive, cedary tobacco and spice characters lingering in the background. Finishes dry with some slightly bitter capsicum like characters. Fine grained tannins with a green edged, medium length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

54/23/23% cabernet sauvignon/merlot/cabernet franc. Floral and pretty, this has the telltale crunch from the franc, the plump mid palate from the merlot, and the structure and cassis from the cabernet sauvignon. Lovely wine.
