A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino matured in 25% new French oak barriques with the balance in older French barriques and Italian coopered large casks.
Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Spicy red currant and red cherry aromas mix with dried herbs, earth and light tobacco. Savoury ripe red currant and cherry flavours have a juicy like feel with elements of dried herbs, tobacco, earth and spicy cedar lying below. Slightly dryish but otherwise quite polished tannins with a lick of fresh acidity and a medium to long conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
