2018 Elderton Neil Ashmead Grand Tourer Shiraz

From vines aged between 38 to 78 years old, the wine was aged in French oak puncheons (60% new) for a period of 22 months, including 14 months on lees. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a dark purple hue. Intense dark plum and liquorice aromas fill the nostrils over a background of toasty vanillin cedar, subtle earthy fennel notes and pepper. Lush dark plum and liquorice fruits cast an opulent yet refined feel across the palate underscored by toasty vanillin cedar, fennel, earth and peppered dried herbs. Velvet smooth tannins with a long, plush and alluring aftertaste.
