One of Barossa’s benchmarks for highly slurpable, rich, ripe Shiraz the 2018 vintage ticks all the boxes once again. Fruit is sourced from the Barossa sub districts of Greenock (45%), Nuriootpa (35%) and Craneford (20%) with vines aged between 25 and 124 years old. Maturation took place in predominately second and third fill American oak puncheons for 24 months.
Inky black in colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Heady scents of dark plum, liquorice and dark cherry drift from the glass followed by vanillin oak, hints of dark chocolate and spice. Rich and plump the mouth filling palate is flush with dark plum, liquorice, blackberry and blueberry fruits which are intermeshed with vanillin oak, a touch of earth and spice. Opulent textural feel with silky smooth tannins. Showing excellent power and concentration it concludes with a long lavish aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
