Dominique Piron’s family history in Beaujolais spans more than four centuries, with his oldest known ancestor born in Morgon in 1590. Since then, there have been 14 generations of winegrowers in the family. The excellent Beaujolais-Villages is sourced from vines 50 years old on average.
Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright purple hue. Fragrant aromatics of violets, crushed red to dark cherries and incense are quite perfumed like. Infusions of fresh herbs, subtle clove, light earth and spice ensue. Delicious ripe red fruits have a juicy feel underscored by infusions of incense, earth and spicy herbs. Bright acidity and silky tannins lead into a crunchy red fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
