Other Reviews....
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes reveals attractive aromas of pear, orange oil, toasted hazelnuts and pastry cream. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a richer, more textural and more concentrated profile than the Folatières, differences of both site and vine age being at play here.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru has quite an intense bouquet with orange sorbet, mint and green apples, well-defined and powerful. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with a smack of sea salt, good acidity with an almost Meursault-like finish that lingers in the mouth. Maybe not a Les Combettes of immense longevity, but there is breeding here.

Here too there is a vague suggestion of the exotic to the aromas nut oil, pear liqueur and floral nuances that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is better density still to the delicious flavors that also culminate in a dry and firm but not really austere finish that is a bit more complex.

The vines are somewhat affected by virus but still delivered 45 hl/ha. There is some elegance to this along with the characteristic plumpness of the vineyard, white fruit with a citrus tang, balanced and relatively long.
