Other Reviews....
The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru was also showing very well, offering up an expressive bouquet of ripe cherries, cassis, warm spices and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and textural, with a broad attack, good depth and energy at the core, powdery structuring tannins and a sapid finish.

The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru was showing a little reduction on the nose but there is plenty of attractive black currant and boysenberry fruit underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity, great mineralité and a precise, edgy finish that is quite Mazoyères in style. Great potential, but it will need some time.

Neal Martin - Vinous

A ripe, fresh and unusually elegant, indeed even perfumed, nose displays notes of black raspberry, cassis and plenty of floral influences. There is both good focus and density to the suave yet quite powerful and vibrant medium weight flavors that culminate in a mildly warm, compact and rustic finale. This is both serious and firmly structured so once again, patience advised.

Dense black colour with a luxurious Charmes nose, probably from new oak, certainly gives it a firm framework which actually works to its advantage. The wood shows up at the back but it is the way this sample is showing. Will work very well in due course.
