Outside of Champagne, Bouvet is the most awarded Sparkling Wine House in France, garnering praise from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Decanter Magazine and others. After many years of ownership by Champagne Taittinger, Bouvet Ladubay is once again fully owned by the Monmousseau family who have continuously run the business since their purchase in 1932. Bouvet Ladubay employs precisely the same wine making process as Grand Marque Champagne, delivering French sophistication at an everyday price.

As good as ever, this is without a doubt one of the best value sparklings on the market today.

An exuberant mousse slowly dissipates to reveal a pale straw coloured base that’s finely threaded by a stream of tiny persistent bubbles. Filling the nostrils are aromatics of pear, baked apple and bready yeast lees notes which are followed by some quince and faint toast. The mouth watering palate is layered with pear and apple fruits which meld into notions of yeast lees, citrus and delicate baked bread characters. Finishes dry and crisp with an appealingly scrumptious aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
The 2018 Bouvet Saphir Saumur Brut Vintage is a sparkling blend of 90% Chenin Blanc and 10% Chardonnay, both vinified in stainless steel. Aged on the secondary lees for two years, the wine exhibits a radiant citrus color along with delicate bread and pure chalk and lemon aromas that come along pretty expressive after some minutes in the glass. It is round and fruity on the palate yet also firm and mineral, with a chalky/lemony expression that is balanced by roundness (from the dosage). Drink 2021-2026.
