2018 Bicknell fc Applecross Pinot Noir
Picked 21 days earlier than the '17, but with near-identical chemical analysis. Destemmed whole berry ferment, 19 days on skins including cold soak and post-ferment settling. Brilliantly clear, bright colour. David Bicknell runs a tight ship, the minimal message of the fermenting must resulting in a pure, perfumed, light-bodied pinot with years in front of it. For the purist. Drink by 2028.
James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion (March 2020)
This offers vivid ripe red-cherry, strawberry and red-plum aromas, as well as some fresh-herb notes. Delivers a fresh, red cherry-flavored palate with smooth, fleshy texture. Drink now. Screw cap.
