2018 Begali Lorenzo Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore La Cengia
A blend of 65% Corvina, 30% Rondinella and 5% other varieties that sees at least 12 months maturation in large wooden oak. Totally opaque black core with a deep dark red hue. Aromas of morello and black cherries, liquorice and clove are married to some scorched earth and spicy vanilla notes. Medium bodied, lush black cherry, morello cherry and liquorice fruits are backed by bright acidity and a sturdy tannin structure. Toasty vanillin cedar, dried herbs and spicy earth elements lie underneath. Concludes slightly chewy with good fruit generosity and medium length.
