2018 Balgownie Black Label Shiraz

A small amount of Viognier was co-fermented with the Shiraz with maturation taking place in a combination of old French and American oak barriques for 12 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose has discreet aromas of blackpepper, liquorice, scorched earth, black olive and graphite. Medium bodied plum and liquorice flavours have a charred oak overlay with black olive, scorched earth and blackpepper in the background. Fine tannin structure with a mid length aftertaste.
