2018 Apsley Gorge Vineyard Pinot Noir

Aged in a mixture of new and 2 year old French oak. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a very dark red hue. The nose is filled with anise, black cherry and black plum aromas which mix with toasty cedar, dried meats, earth and spicy dried herb notes. The weighty palate is amply endowed with rich black cherry, anise and black plum fruits which have a luscious mouthfeel. Toasty oak, earth, dried meat and spice nuances ensue. A firm, muscular tannin structure is largely concealed by the wealth of black fruits. Finishes with a shade of bitterness. The aftertaste long and generously proportioned.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
