2018 A. Gere Merlot

Matured in 70% new and 30% second fill small oak barrels for a period of 16 months. Dark red core with black toned edges and a dark red to brick red hue. Aromas of red currant are overlaid by earth and leather notes with some dried herb and spice also evident. Mid weighted the palate features ripe red currant fruits which carry good flesh over an earth, dried herb and spicy tobacco back drop. Fine polished tannins with a mix of red currant fruit, earth and spice lingering through the elegant finish.
