2017 Yering Station Shiraz Viognier

Shiraz was co-fermented with Viognier and aged in a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barriques. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Fragrant scents of dark plum, liquorice and smoky cedar emanate from the glass followed by faint notions of honeysuckle, dried apricot and spice. Medium to full bodied there’s a fleshy feel to the rich dark plum and liquorice fruit with elements of dried apricot, smoky cedar and spicy pepper ensuing. Sturdy yet well integrated tannins provide structure. Good length and freshness with a medium to long aftertaste.
