2017 Woodstock Deep Sands Shiraz

Winemakers Scott Collett and Ben Glaetzer have done a magnificent job in crafting this classically styled McLaren Vale Shiraz that overdelivers in spades. Fruit is sourced from Woodstock’s estate and neighbouring vineyards in the McLaren Vale sub district of Blewitt Springs with maturation taking place in a mix of stainless steel tanks and older oak for a period of up to 12 months.

Rich, plush and weighty this is a compelling buy for lovers of big opulent McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced liquorice and dark chocolate aromas ooze out of the glass followed by ripe blackberry, dark plum, vanillin characters and spice. Possessing plenty of body weight, this rich opulently textured Shiraz delivers tremendous value. Dominating the front half of the palate are plush liquorice and ripe blackberry fruits which saturate the mouth. Juicy dark plum, chocolatey vanillin characters and spice then move in. Seamlessly integrated, silky smooth tannins. Finishes sleek and powerful with a long showy aftertaste.
