2017 West Cape Howe Cabernet Merlot

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Scented ripe red currant and mulberry aromas meld into tobacco notes with cedar, dried herbs and spice also evident. Medium bodied, there’s ample richness to the red and black currant fruit which along with some ripe mulberries sits comfortably over a back drop of cedary tobacco characters and spicy dried herbs. There’s a slight firmness to the finely grained tannins which imparts some structure to the finish. Excellent depth with a savoury conclusion of red to black currants, mulberry, cedary tobacco characters, dried herbs and spice. Fantastic everyday drinking.
