2017 The Wanderer Upper Yarra Pinot Noir
The fancier labels in the cream with red font. I tasted a brilliant suite of new releases with winemaker Andrew Marks a few weeks ago. A strong reminder of his prowess.
Savoury, earthy, slighly reductive/bitumen scents with dried rose petal and cranberry in the mix. Transparent feel in the palate, sour-ish cherry flavours, supple tannins, great length, understated and very elegant here with a rush of amaro-tinged acidity. It’s subtle, delicate but delivers the goods, particularly texture and detail. Sheesh, a good ‘un indeed.
