‘A rich, intensely flavoured Tempranillo backed by ripe chewy tannins.’
Pitch black dark purple core with a dark purple hue. Pronounced black cherry and liquorice aromas intermingle with hints of scorched earth, vanillin cedar and spice. Densely textured rich black cherry and liquorice flavours swamp the full bodied palate with elements of scorched earth, vanillin cedar, dried herbs and spice the undercard. Ripe chewy tannins counterpoint the opulent fruit and provide a supportive structure. Excellent depth with a long ripe black cherry, liquorice, vanillin cedar and spicy scorched earth aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.6%
Other Reviews….
All French oak, only 10% new. Or so I believe.
Medium weight wine but it feels warm, generous and grunty. Tannin is the key here. The wine opens with cherry-plum and cola flavours, adds spice and prune to the mix, and then drives herb-flecked tannin through the back half. There’s warmth, sure, but there’s lots to chew on. Drink 2018-2023.
