Papillon is crafted from a range of old vine, dry grown Grenache and Cinsault vineyards, located in the east and far northern reaches of the Barossa Valley. The average age of these low yielding vines is 90 years old. To enhance fragrance and freshness a portion of whole bunches (30%) was utilised with maturation taking place in older oak for just 6 months.

Vibrant semi translucent red colour with a light crimson purple hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, red raspberries, ripe cherries and strawberries subtlety laced with dried clove and liquorice are followed by spicy end notes. Light, vibrant and juicy with a vein of freshness running through it the palate dishes up delicious flavours of ripe raspberries, cherries and plum juice intermixed with a touch of liquorice and subtle dried clove infusions. Finishes dry, savoury and spicy with bright, almost crunchy like acidity. Silky tannins with a long spicy ripe red raspberry, cherry, strawberry, plum, subtle liquorice and light dried clove aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
