2017 Sons of Eden Marschall Shiraz

A deliciously fresh and juicy Barossa Shiraz that shows terrific drive.

Sourced from vines aged between 12-60 years old the resultant wine was matured in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak hogsheads for 15 months. Dense pitch black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. A beautifully scented nose sees aromatics of dark plum, liquorice and blueberry intermix with hints of fennel, lightly smoked vanillin cedar and spice. Rich and powerful yet with a graceful, supple textural feel the 2017 vintage has slightly less weight and more freshness than recent releases. The mouth is flooded with youthful dark plum, liquorice, crushed blackberry and black cherry flavours which meld into fennel and smoky vanillin cedar characters followed by some spice and pepper on the vibrant finish. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent power with a long moreish aftertaste of spicy dark plum, liquorice, freshly crushed blackberries, traces of black cherry, fennel, smoky cedar and pepper.
