2017 Skillogalee Basket Pressed The Cabernets

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec matured for 2 years in oak hogsheads. Pitch black core with a dark red black tinged hue. A mixture of blackcurrant, liquorice and spearmint aromas show excellent elevation out of the glass with trailing notes of vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits have a silken feel upon entry as they meld into toasty vanillin cedar (that’s quite prominent), earth and spicy mint like characters. Velvet like tannins have a sturdy underbelly. Long luscious mint infused aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
