2017 Reillys Dry Land Shiraz

Fruit was sourced from Reilly’s Home Block vineyard planted in 1919 with maturation taking place in French and American oak for 2 years. Midnight black core with a deep dark red hue. Lusty black plum, liquorice and black cherry aromas meld into vanillin oak, earth and subtle spicy leather notes. The heavy, high octane palate is flooded with black plum, liquorice and black cherry fruits which carry some heat from the lofty 16.5% alcohol. Dense and voluptuously textured, notions of vanillin cedar, scorched earth, leather and pepper lurk in the background. Velvety yet sturdily built tannin structure with a powerful and very ripe black fruited conclusion.
