Matured for 15 months in French oak. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose expels red currant and ripe mulberry aromas followed by some tobacco, bay leaf and spicy cedar notes. Light to medium bodied, the very elegant palate sports ripe red currant and mulberry fruit underpinned by earth, vanillin cedar and spicy bay leaf. Slightly dryish but super fine tannins finishing with a degree of finesse on the medium length aftertaste.

File this under Smooth Operator. Its Cabernet Sauvignon, certainly, but its just so sheer. Smoky, cedary oak has been let loose on mulberried, curranty, fresh-faced fruit. Quality grapes share the stage with quality oak, and tannin for that matter. It's slightly resiny, slightly overdone, but it's not out of whack, and it's not overripe. It needs time, but it will mature superbly. Drink 2024-2034+'
