2017 Mr Riggs Shiraz

Matured for 10 months in new and one year old French and American oak barrels. Superb colour density with an impenetrable inky black core and an equally deep black dark red hue. Alluring scents of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum waft out of the glass trailed by subtle dark chocolate, vanillin oak, earth and spicy pepper notes. Rich and seductive yet carrying remarkable finesse and possessing the vintages trademark freshness, the opulently textured palate is flooded with succulent blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits. Sitting underneath are elements of faintly toasted vanillin oak, traces of fennel, earthy dark chocolate and spice. Superb depth and power with finely meshed tannins lending polish. Very long fresh blackberry, dark plum, liquorice, chocolatey vanillin oak and spice aftertaste.
