2017 Mountadam Eden Valley Chardonnay
Brilliant very pale straw, water like colour with a light tinge of green around the outskirts. Elevated aromas of fresh nectarines and peaches laced with dried honey are followed by some citrusy nougat and subtle gun flint notes. There’s a real vibrancy to the mouthfeel with flavours of fresh nectarine and citrus melding into traces of dried honey and subtle spice. Dry with lively acidity making for a very fresh finish. Aftertaste of nectarines, white peaches, citrus, faint dried honey and light spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews….
A very well executed Eden Valley chardonnay with bell-clear varietal character, its cornerstones white peach and nectarine fruit, the mid-palate with gentle grapefruit and oak. It's in Brideshead Revisited style, elegant and refined, under- rather than overstated. Drink by 2025.
