Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Captivating the olfactory senses are perfumed aromatics of violets, dark cherries, winter strawberries and a faint whiff of sour cherries followed by anise, meaty forest floor like notes and light spicy cedar. Delicious ripe dark cherry, strawberry and anise flavours flood the mouth giving it a supple feel. Fresh herb infusions, a light meatiness, forest floor characters and spicy cedar sit beneath the fruit. Very well integrated, finely tuned acidity and velvety tannins. Excellent power with a long driving aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews….
MV6, 667 and 777 clones, standard vinification. The particularly complex bouquet and medium-bodied palate offer a mix of forest floor and bramble grading through to delicious, piquant flavours on the tip of the tongue. Red and juicy fruits make this the easiest of the Moorooduc Pinot trio to enjoy. Drink by 2033.
