Matured in French oak hogsheads. Impenetrable inky black colour with a deep dark purple black hue. The nose displays aromas of dark freshly crushed berries, liquorice, vanillin oak and subtle spicy herbs. Medium to full bodied with good richness and a chewy feel the palate has flavours of ripe blackberries and liquorice over toasty vanillin oak and earthy pepper. Bright finish with a slight firmness to the tannins. Concludes with a medium length aftertaste. Trophy winner at the Sydney International Wine Competition.
