2017 Montara Hill Block Single Vineyard Pinot Noir

Sourced from vines with an average age of 40 years. Made using 50% whole bunch fermentation and matured in second use French oak barriques.

Semi translucent dark red colour with a bright crimson hue. Fragrant aromatics of violets, ripe cherries and strawberries subtlety laced with dried cloves emanate from the glass over gamey forest floor like characters and spicy cedar. Light in body and not as powerful on the palate as the nose would suggest, flavours of ripe cherries and strawberries sit over a backdrop of light dried clove, subtle forest floor and spicy cedar. Supple mouthfeel and velvety tannins. Aftertaste of spicy ripe cherries, strawberries, subtle dried clove, forest floor and cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
