2017 Mont-Redon Reserve Gigondas

Totally opaque pitch black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Uplifted ripe black cherry and liquorice scents lead the way followed by black raspberry, smoked meats, provincial herbs, hints of black olive and spicy pepper. The palate is swamped with rich black cherry, liquorice and black raspberry fruits which are underpinned by infusions of smoky incense like characters, scorched earth, herbs du Provence and blackpepper. Ripe chewy tannins provide the framework. Excellent power with a long chewy dark to black fruited aftertaste.
