2017 Longhop Cabernet Sauvignon
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Nosing offers up spicy black plum, cassis and dried fruit notes followed by toasty vanillin oak and earth notes. Rich and voluptuously textured the palate features mouth filling flavours of black plum, cassis liqueur and aniseed over toasty oak and vanillin spice. Velvet smooth tannins with a very ripe conclusion.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 15%

No heavy-handed winemaking needed to showcase the cabernet aromas and fruit power here, in what was an unusually (and beneficially) cool year for this variety in this place. All the varietal thrills – blackcurrant, blackberry and some plum fruitcake notes, with a fulfilling palate and tannin-supported structure. Great value. Drink by 2026.
