2017 La Crema Monterey Pinot Noir

Established in 1979 the family owned and operated winery La Crema focuses on cool climate appellations in California. This Pinot Noir was matured in French oak, 17% new, for a period of 9 months.

Semi translucent dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Fragrant ripe red to dark cherry and strawberry scents infused with hints of violets meld into anise, forest floor and spicy cedar notes. Delicious rich dark cherry and strawberry fruits glide across the supplely textured palate underscored by elements of anise, forest floor and spicy lightly toasted oak. Exceptionally smooth tannins with excellent power right through to the long silky finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Medium-full red-purple colour with a complex, perfumed bouquet which boasts lovely varietal character and lots of nuances, black cherry and mixed spices among them. Tannins are fine and measured, adding to structure and length. Lovely wine.
