2017 Kurtz Family Vineyards Lunar Block Shiraz

Sourced entirely from the original 1969 Lunar Block Shiraz plantings this wine was matured in new French oak hogsheads for 36 months. Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Potent aniseed and liquorice allsorts aromas soar out of the glass followed by dark plum, choc mint, vanillin oak and spice notes. Rich, heavy and voluptuously textured the palate is loaded with lavish dark plum, liquorice and choc mint flavours which are underpinned by toasty vanillin oak, subtle scorched earth and spice. Excellent power and depth with velvety tannins and a long plush finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
