2017 Kennedy Heathcote Shiraz

Matured in French oak (20% new) for a period of 11 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Spicy dark cherry and red liquorice aromas mix with smoked meats, dried herbs, graphite and hints of white pepper. Medium bodied, spicy dark plum and liquorice fruits show good generosity and possess a supple feel. Ensuing are dried herb, smoked meat, earthy cedar and pepper characters. Fine grained tannins concluding savoury and spicy.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

A restrained, savoury style that works off a medium-bodied palate with the right amount of appealing flavours. Expect some just-ripe red plums, a dusting of baking spices, dried herbs and cherry pips. And with its soft and supple tannins and approachability, it's ready now. Drink by 2027.
