Matured for 20 months in American and French oak barrels. Dense inky black heart with a dark red black hue. Prominent ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas show terrific intensity out of the glass with elements of lightly toasted vanillin oak, hints of dark chocolate, fennel and spicy pepper also present. Full, lavish and plush in its feel the palate is awash with blackberry, liquorice and mocha flavours which overlay a toasty vanillin oak, fennel and spice back drop. Velvet smooth tannins with a medium to long finish.
