2017 Katnook Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured in predominately older French oak for 7 months. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red hue. Nosing reveals ripe blackcurrant scents laced with a hint of choc mint. Following on are vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco notes and spice. Medium bodied with ample fruit richness yet also possessing a sense of elegance, the palate is decorated with blackcurrant and to a lesser extent mulberry fruits which sit over a back drop of vanillin cedar, chocolatey earth and spice. Refined well integrated tannin structure and acid balance with a medium to long conclusion.
