2017 Jim Barry Lodge Hill Shiraz Cellar Release
Medium to full in body with rich, lush fruit backed by sturdy tannins.
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark plum and aniseed fill the nostrils followed by some spicy vanillin cedar, scorched earth, choc mint and pepper notes. Rich juicy dark plum and aniseed flavours carry a lush feel across the medium to full bodied palate. Spicy vanillin cedar, subtle choc mint, scorched earth and pepper characters stretch across the back half. Underlying sturdy tannins finishing long and succulent.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

(tasted 2020) Standard Barry vinification. Fruit is its strong point, supple and balanced blackberry and plum are refreshed by moderate alcohol (and the vintage). Excellent value. Drink by 2030.
