2017 Gioiello Estate Old Hill Chardonnay

Fermented in French oak barriques using wild yeast and left to mature on lees for 12 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Showing excellent intensity, fleshy peach and nectarine aromas are overlaid by prominent toasty bacon fat like characters with hints of dried honey, nougat and spice also present. Medium bodied with a fleshy yet fresh mouthfeel, the palate is amply fruited with white peach and nectarine flavours which run into toasty bacon fat like characters, subtle dried honey and spicy nougat. Finely balanced acidity finishing with good length and some roasted almond like nuances.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
