2017 Freycinet Vineyard Riesling

Brilliant very pale straw, almost water like in colour with a faint tinge of green around the edges. Fragrant lime and lemon scents jump from the glass with green apple, chalky talc like notes and mineral following on. Quite austere and steely in nature the 2017 is much more tightly coiled than recent efforts. Lemon, lime and crunchy green apple flavours are tightly wrapped around a steely spine with flinty mineral infusions on the very dry finish. Fresh crunchy acidity with a long pristine aftertaste of lemon, lime, green apple, wet steel and flinty mineral. One for the long haul.
